Czech Peking Glass Pendant

Made to look like jade, the skill to make glass that looks like jade with its color depth variations is a level of mastery now lost. Famous for this glass, Czech jewelry was inspired by other cultures and blended those into their designs. 

Circa 1920s-30s, Peking glass - this jade look a like - was highly sought after. The glass is made to look carved. Up to the chain. Two decorative elements with carved pearls flank the central stone. Further up the chain are central stones of green glass to simulate emeralds. This is flanked with a trio cluster lt leaves with small pearls. A couple of these tiny pearls have been lost over the century yet in no way detract from the beauty of this piece. 

The chain is original.
